7/15/24 - Two CBC Vancouver journalists are being honoured with awards from the Jack Webster Foundation, which recognizes excellence in journalism in B.C. Longtime reporter Belle Puri is the recipient of the 2024 Bill Hutchison Lifetime Achievement Award and CBC Vancouver associate producer Cathy Browne is this year's recipient of the Bill Good Award.  CBC News

7/15/24 - Long-time Global BC producer Brooke Rollingson has announced her departure after 15+ years. She was an associate producer/ producer since 2009 and a Global National producer since 2015. Michele Brunoro


7/11/24 - Award-winning CTV Vancouver senior reporter and anchor Michele Brunoro is the recipient of the 2024 Lieutenant Governor's BC Journalism Fellowship. She has been with CTV Vancouver since March 2000. Later this year, Brunoro will be producing online stories and TV broadcast pieces focused on human trafficking in the province.  CTV News

7/11/24 - Former Vancouver broadcaster Alan Carter, who has been a reporter then anchor with Global News Toronto for the past 25 years, is leaving his position. He was an anchor/ producer at CKVU-TV Vancouver from 1989-97. Carter has not yet announced future plans.  LinkedIn Announcement/ Video

7/09/24 - Shane Hewitt & The Night Shift national talk show has been revived on the iHeart talk network. His previous late night show The Shift was abruptly cancelled by Corus Entertainment last November. The show is being aired locally from 7-11 p.m. weeknights on CFAX AM 1070 Victoria. 7/09/24 - CityNews Vancouver reporter/ anchor Catherine Garrett is joining CBC Edmonton as a video journalist for Grande Prairie. The 2019 BCIT Broadcast Journalism graduate's last day at CityNews will be August 9th.  X Announcement

7/09/24 - Joey Pitt, who has been the play by play broadcaster for the Surrey Eagles for the last two seasons, has been hired by The West Kelowna Warriors as the club’s new Broadcast and Digital Content Manager.  Warriors Announcement

7/04/24 - The Vancouver Sun and Province have corrected and re-released an item about the former LG73 CKLG AM 730, after correcting some glaring errors, including previously identifying it as LG73 FM. Corus Entertainment discontinued regular programming on AM 730 last week and is currently simulcasting sister station CKNW AM 980. Gordon McIntyre, Sun/ Province  Editor's note: The signal on AM 730 is one of the best in the city and it would be hard to believe that Corus will pull the plug on the station and turn in its licence.

7/04/24 - Former All Traffic CKGO AM 730 Vancouver anchor Lucas Celle will be producing radio broadcasts for the Whitecaps FC and BC Lions games on CKNW AM 980 throughout the rest of their respective seasons. Celle has been a Technical Producer at CKNW since August 2023.  X Announcement

7/02/24  - Retired CBC British Columbia morning personality Rick Cluff has passed away following a short battle with cancer, days after his 74th birthday. He joined CBC Vancouver in 1997 hosting the highly rated The Early Edition, retiring in 2017 following a 41-year career at CBC.  Karin Larsen, CBC News
