MARGUERITE CALLEGARI (nee
FALK) October 17, 1930 – January 28, 2024 Marguerite was born in Vancouver, B.C. on
October 17, 1930 and attended both Britannia and Templeton High Schools there.
She met her future husband, Roy Callegari, at a Swedish picnic and the two were
married on May 28, 1949. Marguerite began her career with CBC
Vancouver in April, 1963 when she joined staff as a Summer Relief Switchboard
Operator. She was later promoted to Head of the Switchboard Department and held
those responsibilities until 1975 when she transferred to the TV Programming
Department as a Senior Clerk and it was from this position that she retired on
August 31, 1989. In TV Programming, Marguerite handled many things including
scheduling of the Script and Production Assistants, assisting the Unit Managers,
typing contracts for performers and working for the Executive Producer, TV Drama
– Philip Keatley, just to name a few. One of Marguerite’s fondest memories was
that when Leo & Me, the series that introduced Michael J. Fox, was in
development, Philip asked her if she knew of any Italian stores that might be
considered as a location. Marguerite’s husband Roy was quick to come up with a
suggestion and that store was indeed used in the pilot Leo & Me
production.
Marguerite & Roy enjoyed many wonderful
trips through the years to Italy, Finland, France, Germany, the United Kingdom,
the United States and across Canada. At home, they loved entertaining family
and friends and anyone partaking of Marguerite’s wonderful cooking was lucky
indeed. Marguerite was predeceased by her husband
Roy (December 16, 1999), son John and daughter Teri. She is survived by her
daughter Dana as well as grandchildren Chris (Maria), Erin and Tammy and
great-grandchildren Luis, Angelo and Jaden. Marguerite in
